NGC3372 - ETA CARINAE NEBULA (SHO) GRAHAM CONATY
NGC3372, also known as the Eta Carinae Nebula or Carina Nebula, is one of the most iconic objects in the Southern Hemisphere.
The star Eta Carina itself, located in the centre of the nebula, is a giant variable blue star and is surrounded by the Homunculus Nebula.
Located at a distance of around 8,500 light-years from Earth, NGC3372 is one of the largest hydrogen regions in the Milky Way and four times as large as the better known Orion Nebula.
